WW Celebrates 100 Years of Service and Growth

Wallingford, CT - WW Uniform Service is proud to announce that 2024 marks an incredible milestone - 100 years of service! What started as a small laundry provider in Deep River, Connecticut in 1924 has grown into a leading uniform rental company serving Connecticut, the 5 boroughs of NYC, New York State, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. 

Major milestones have marked WW’s journey over the past century. Initially focused on dry cleaning linen for local businesses, the company demonstrated remarkable adaptability. In the 1960s, as polyester’s rise reduced demand for linen dry cleaning, WW pivoted to uniform services - a move that would define its future. This transition was formalized in 1973, quickly accelerating their growth trajectory. The latest addition to their service offerings is the WW First aid & Safety division, launched in 2023 in response to customer demand for a trusted local provider of essential safety supplies for workplaces. 

Today, the company's production facility is open 6 days a week, processing 85,000 to 1000,000 lbs of product weekly. Their uniforms division boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including four 450lb open pocket washer machines, two 600lb gas fired dryers, one 100lb washer machine, two 50lb dryers, and a semi-auto assisted sorting system with 15 routes on the road.

Reaching 100 years as a local business is not a common achievement. The key to WW’s longevity? Their outstanding team and commitment to innovation. Many employees have been with the company for decades, with the service team averaging a 12-year tenure. This dedication translates to an astounding 97-98% customer retention rate year after year.

In addition to strong customer and employee engagement, WW takes pride in their community involvement, actively participating in local initiatives and sponsoring events. This commitment has earned them recognition, including the “Heritage Award” from the Wallingford, CT Chamber of Commerce. 

As WW enters its second century of service, it’s focused on driving growth and innovation. A major renovation is underway to double input/output capacity, incorporating new technological advancements and machinery. 

Frank Maresca Jr. looks to the future with optimism, saying:

It’s been a true pleasure to work side by side with my father Frank Maresca Sr., my mother Linda Maresca, our partner Tom Grasser, and our two back-bones, Gary Jackson, and his wife Cindy Jackson, and I anticipate an amazing future to watch my children grow in the company, with high hopes to see them take reins one day.”
